Challenging Perceptions | Bogotá

A Colombian Graffiti documentary that takes a deep dive into the power of urban art and it’s ability to inspire, transform areas and give children hope for the future. Bogota has a unique position as one of the few places in the world where graffiti laws are relaxed, provided permission to paint is obtained from the property owner. This documentary looks at art giving a voice to invisible inhabitants in the capital and explores the cultural issue of urban art in Bogota.
With over 6000 urban artists working in the city, it is quickly developing into one of the biggest art scenes in the world right now. For many, it provides them with opportunities that keeps them away from crime and gives them creative freedom to express.

The documentary was filmed in Bogota in November, since then there has been some changes in the graffiti world but the beauty of video is it stands the test of time. Challenging Perceptions explores the power of urban art to inspire, transform areas and give children hope for the future. With over 6000 urban artists working in Bogota, it is quickly developing into one of the most exciting street art scenes in the world today.
